Podcasting
Increasingly, podcasting is becoming an
important educational tool. A wide variety of
subject areas can make use of podcasting to
enhance student learning and to raise the
profile of their subject. The London Grid for
Learning have recently purchased a podcast
server to allow schools with access to the LGfL
to upload their work onto it, to share with
other students and schools. Once created
and uploaded the podcasts can be
downloaded onto computers or MP3 players so
students can listen to them at home or on the
move (useful for revision!!)
The equipment required to create professional
sounding podcasts is probably already available
in your school - as a microphone, computer and
some audio editing software such as
Audacity
to download for free or Wavosaur
to download for free. Add some professional
sounding jingles or sound beds from the LGFL
audio network and you have a completed
professional sounding podcast. If you would
like help or training to create podcasts or you
do not have some or all of the equipment needed
please contact us at Central Enfield CLC to see
how we can help you.
