We are hoping to run a radio station week here in Enfield where schools can create radio broadcasts and share them over the course of a week. We have been working with The Latymer School Enfield, piloting the impact of a set of 10"Netbooks to support learning in lessons. Towards the end of the summer term, year 9 experimented with the Netbooks in a range of lessons. We have been working with Tim Rylands (http://www.timrylands.com/blog/about/) to explore the potenital of using computer games to engage and inspire students to write. Tim began using computer games in his lessons in a bid to improve children's literacy and communication skills. He travels around the world to give presentations and model lessons. We managed to secure a booking with Tim in Enfield.
